Chemical Properties: Colorless translucent crystalline or white crystalline powder. Relative density 1.52, melting point 35.1℃. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. The Ph value of 3.5% aqueous solution is 9.0 ~ 9.4. It is easy to be weathered into salt containing 7 crystal water in the air. When heated to 100℃, it loses all crystal water and becomes white powder anhydrous substance. When heated to 250℃, it becomes sodium pyrophosphate. 

Application: Used as boiler softener, flame retardant for fabrics, wood and paper, glazes and solders. Used in the production of detergent, printing plate cleaning agent and mordant for dyeing. In the printing and dyeing industry used as hydrogen peroxide bleaching stabilizer, rayon filler (enhance the strength and elasticity of silk). Is the manufacture of sodium pyrophosphate and other phosphate raw materials, but also monosodium glutamate, erythromycin, penicillin, streptomycin and sewage biochemical treatment products, such as culture agent. Also used for electroplating, tanning leather.
