Betamethasone dipropionate is a glucocorticoid steroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive abilities.

It is applied as a topical cream, ointment, lotion or gel (Diprolene) to treat itching and other minor skin conditions such as eczema.
 

Function

1.Anti-inflammatory effects:Glucocorticoids reduce and prevent tissue response to inflammation, thereby reducing the performance of inflammation

2.Immunosuppression effects:Prevent or inhibit the cell-mediated immune response, delayed hypersensitivity reactions, and reduce the expansion of the primary immune response.

Betamethasone is a potent glucocorticoid steroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. Unlike other drugs with these effects, betamethasone does not cause water retention. It is applied as a topical cream, ointment, foam, lotion or gel to treat itching. Betamethasone sodium phosphate is sometimes prescribed as anintramuscular injection (I.M) for itching from various ailments, including allergic reactions to poison ivy and similar plants.

Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate  is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive abilities. Betamethasone 21-phosphate sodium salt is used where water retention is undesirable.
